Well because I know I'm going to be all over the place and spazzing tomorrow, I figured I'd get my early Christmas present to you guys. This is increeedibly embarrassing, but hopefully it'll entertain some of you.

Ooooh joyest of joys.



It's time to talk about the world's biggest doofus, Xenon Naginata.

It's funny. Xenon started off as a stupid Gary Stu oc for Naruto introduced back in '07 who was dumb, hated the sight of blood, and had two different spirits living inside him (Destiny and Incubus) who'd talk to him on several not so consistent occasions. Some of you may know him from my first and only OCT, OCBC or something like that. In spite of my getting my ass kicked by an unfinished entry, I still had the inspiration to make Xenon his own person instead of… that.

Those were my glory days.

When Xenon was a goof, Incubus was "Nightmare", and Destiny was the sweetest thing you've ever known. And Destiny and Incubus were inside of Nagi or some shit. Alternate egos?

So then I wanted to give him another, somewhat more appealing image—or at least what I thought at the time. I changed his image to a more antagonistic form, but the shit stuness was still there. I was pretty vague about his powers and what such, but it was at this stage that I officially considered him to be a humanoid virus. At this time, I kinda based him around the stereotype for a psychopath to an extent; he shed blood and shit with no remorse, but I clung to the goofiness. This is also the stage where I introduced the virtual world concept into the thing, at the time I didn't know that I'd be developing it to become the World Wide Network.  Then I figured I'd up the game and make him even more of an intolerant fucking asshole piece of shit stu. This is when his outfit started to gravitate towards the suit, and this is also when I was /hyper/ on the roleplaying shit. I remember annoying the everloving shit out of the lass I roleplayed with. I'm sorry you had to be subjected to that.

Kay I'm embarrassed by those days.

So thennnn I started slowly gravitating towards the mentally unhinged creeper who hates pointless violence and vomits eggs and is a bit of a…masochist, I guess? Only when he's in the process of Corrupting someone. Other than that, he'd probably straight face so hard. Wait—I'm getting off track, but can you tell how anxious I am to get out of the shit days?

He did pose as a principal for a school meant to Corrupt people, and as you can see, that's where I got my modern inspiration for his disguise, "Yellow" for #OCT-Resort. (Even down to the letter invitation!)

Actually, even before that, Tea, Emma, and I were going to start a creepy…whatever the fuck called "Black Willows", and that's where I got the inspiration for his principal identity. Fun fact—the inspiration from /that/ came from when we used to fuck about in IMVU (not literally).

So then how did I get from all that bullshit to the somewhat likeable douche canoe that we know (and us Hunters HATE) today? To be honest, I have /no fucking idea/. It's a miracle. I think part of it was me trying my best to oppose every stereotype that he fell under—I remember actually editing For Better or Worse and taking out certain parts where he seemed violent as shit for no reason. That whole thing with Dragoon being Rewired? /total rewrite/.

His abilities are another thing. I remember stacking quite a few strengths on him and /REFUSING/ to add weaknesses to balance it. I remember saying (and this was back when the setting of TwistedFates was on a "Post Apocalyptic Earth and Nagi+Inky+Destiny= the Apocalypse, another thing that makes me GAG and I deleted from the canon) that he was some psychopathic murder killer that killed his entire third grade class after escaping from the US government and forcing some high school or something to accept him. Looking back on that,

No.

Just

NO.

So I changed things around a bit. I added a few weaknesses to balance that shit out, made him incredibly slow since gravity hates the shit out of him (he has to put in all of the effort ever to move quickly), and made him weak against "Light". I'm not sure when I started the Life Stream thing, but it was a significant development, because he'd later become Corruption itself.

The virus then became an alien virus, and (I know I'm skipping over a lot of shit in between) got its own persona, referred to as Nata. Nata was an Ununoctian who developed as a virus melded with him when he was a fetus, so when he was born, his spinal cord was actually exposed in addition to his ribs, which didn't really cause concern back on Ununoctius, except that his father got a feeling that something terrible was wrong with him. All the Royalists knew was that he had features similar to the royal family as he was growing up (mostly in his "Crown", which are the black horns). Xenon Nata then snatched the body of a young Jake Nakagawa and took on the identity of Xenon Naginata, accelerating the boy's growth until he reached a physical age he saw fit.  People might then ask if Xenon and Destiny's current identities were born on the same day, why are their birthdays separate? I'm going by their vessel's dates of birth! Naginata liked the idea of celebrating the birth of the child that made him possible, so his birthday, as well as the Black Crystal Festival, is being celebrated on this day in Oniyex.

I even drew inspiration from the Ancient Egyptian art and culture I learned about growing up, including "false beards" into the designs of the Ununoctians and the Released Corrupted, but these false beards are actually black, spiked bones that protrude from their chins, as can be seen here.

His weapon used to be a long sword, but I changed it up. He's now got a naginata; the blade is constructed out of his blood (that was a recent change as inspired by Inky's scythe). However, being a somewhat passive aggressive man who functions more as a parasite than anything, you'd rarely see him use the weapon unless he is pushed to a certain point. He'd more than likely attempt to take control of someone or simply have someone defend him. (He's a coward like that!)


So yeah, that's the abridged development history of Xenon Naginata. Does he stalk Cid and Raven like he did? Not in that he goes to school with them, but he does appear to his "persons of interest" as a hallucination if they so happen to be in school, just so that he doesn't rouse the interest of Frank (who serves as the franchise's "anti-Drakken"). So, when you see Terry freaking about a creeper stalking him later on in .melancholy., he's hallucinating that. The Guardians, however, are real.

So now, I guess a question could come up—is Xenon an actual physical being, or is he a hallucination of Corruption in a physical form, serving as a metaphor for (in our world) drugs, alcohol, and whatever promises good but below the surface could turn out to be a nightmare?

He's physical, but when he gets into peoples' heads and they see things, you'll know what's going on. He becomes a metaphor in a sense—the voice of temptation and madness, to an extent, but with a giant bucket of goof. Lord knows he's still a goof.
